Hottentots-Holland Mountain Catchment Area, Franschhoek - Marzelle van der Merwer

With icy winds blowing off of the snow capped mountains, it took a fair amount of encouragement to get the dogs and Alex out of our cosy cottage. On our way to our local dog hiking spot, the clouds broke apart into fragments, allowing golden rays to pierce through. On our way up and into the mountains, the weather was turbulent and ever changing, allowing for some dramatic scenes. Looking out towards the snowy peaks, we were transported into a European winter, only made more surreal by the cotton candy falling from the sky.
