Salomon signed the United Nations Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action in December 2018 and has committed to reduce its carbon emissions by 30% by the year 2030.
To address climate change, a number of countries adopted the Paris Agreement at the COP21 in Paris on 12 December 2015. In the agreement, all countries agreed to work to limit global temperature rise to well below 2 degrees Celsius, and given the grave risks, to strive for 1.5 degrees Celsius.
In December 2018, Salomon signed the United Nation Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action, committing to 30 percent reduction in aggregate greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 (scope 1, 2, 3), with a vision to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
Signatories of this charter commit to decarbonization of the production phase, the selection of climate friendly and sustainable materials, low-carbon transport, improve consumer dialogue and awareness, work with the financing community and policymakers to catalyze scalable solutions.
In complement of this commitment, Salomon is working to define science-based emissions targets, which will be communicated in winter 2019.
